Whois & domain expiry lookup
Registrar, registration and expiry dates, days until expiration, registry status and nameservers for any domain — powered by live registry (RDAP) data.
Know when your domains expire — before they do
Domain registration data answers questions that matter to everyone who runs a website: who owns this domain, which registrar manages it, and — critically — when it expires. The expiry question is the one that bites: every year, businesses lose domains (and the rankings attached to them) to missed renewals.
This tool queries the authoritative registry data for the domain — RDAP first, classic whois where needed — and highlights the time remaining before expiration, along with registry status flags that reveal holds, locks or pending transfers.
SiteFlux monitors your domains continuously — uptime, SSL certificates and DNS — and domain-expiry alerts are on the roadmap, so a forgotten renewal will never take your site dark.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between whois and RDAP?
Whois is the classic text protocol for querying registry data; RDAP is its modern JSON-based successor, mandated by ICANN. This tool tries RDAP first — structured, accurate and current — and falls back to the traditional whois protocol for TLDs that don't offer RDAP yet.
Why does domain expiry matter for SEO?
An expired domain stops resolving, which means downtime, lost rankings and — if the domain is then re-registered by someone else — permanently lost authority. Many businesses have lost years of SEO to an expiry notification that went to a former employee's inbox.
How accurate are the expiry dates shown?
Dates come directly from the authoritative registry (RDAP/whois) and reflect what the registrar has recorded. Some registries auto-renew by default, so an upcoming expiry date doesn't always mean the domain will actually lapse — check your registrar's renewal settings.
Can I look up any domain extension?
Most gTLDs (.com, .net, .org, .io…) and many country codes (.it, .de, .fr…) publish data via RDAP or whois. A few ccTLDs restrict or rate-limit public queries; if a TLD cannot be reached, the tool tells you instead of showing stale data.
